Singing with the Daleian's
On Sat Nov 24th the choir of Christ Church Academy were invited to perform at a special concert at Christ Church with The Daleian Singers male voice choir. This was a great honour as it was the first time that the 65 members of the male voice choir had sung with a school outside their own area of Newcatle-under-lyme. The concert entitled "Endeavour" was well attended and was a great success. Our choir sung a number of solos including popular songs from the film Moana and the Greatest Showman. The second half included a number of Christmas performances and ended with two traditional carols sung impressively by both choirs together on the stage.
Mr Harrison was very proud of all pupils involved and said "The feedback from the Daleian singers and audience has been nothing but positive and the conduct, presentation and levels of performance were outstanding. A credit to the School, teachers and what's more themselves." David Dobson from the Dalian Singers said "Christ Church Academy has set a very high bar for other Schools to follow and it was a pleasure to sing with them".
Special thanks must also go to the PTA for helping to provide and serve refreshments on the evening as well as providing raffle prizes.
We look forward to seeing you at our Christmas concert on Thurs Dec 20th at 7pm at Christ Church.
CCA pupils perform at the Stone Music Festival 14/07/2018
The Christ Church Academy rock band had the prestigious honour of opening the 2018 Stone Music Festival. The Rock Band and all soloists who performed on the day were a credit to the school and fantastic to listen to on the big stage in the high street. Well done to all involved!
On a sun-baked Saturday we hosted our latest Summer music extravaganza. The show featured singing, instrumental performances and dancing. The highlight of the day was a musical performance involving staff and pupils. Well done to all performers and a special thank you to all those staff, governors and parents who helped to make this special day possible.
Stone Rocks 2017
On Saturday 15th July, Christ Church Academy hosted our annual Stone Rocks Music Festival. This was the third year for this festival which was bigger and better than ever before! Stone Rocks played host to singers and dancers, past present and future with guest appearances from other schools and groups too.
Luckily after a wet start to the day, the weather held out for the event which saw the main stage rock and the acoustic tent offering chilled out vibes.
We were delighted to welcome a number of stalls to the event too, including the Mill Restaurant offering a delicious paella and BBQ, an ice cream and crepe stall for those with a sweet tooth, a coffee bar as well as a number of craft and charity stalls.
Speaking after the event, Head of Music Kieron Harrison said “It was a fantastic success again. Well done to all the pupils past and present that took part. All performers blew away the crowd with their talent and we’re already thinking ahead to Stone Rocks 2018!"
