The Arts and Arts Representatives
The Arts at Christ Church Academy
There is already a strong emphasis on celebrating the arts at Christ Church Academy. A number of off timetable sessions celebrate the arts, as well as concerts and festivals during the summer. They are also embedded across the whole curriculum through creative writing, music, drama, design, art and other forms, as well as being widely available to the pupils through extra-curricular sessions.
To enhance the arts further, we are currently completing an application for the new Artsmark award. This process changed last year, resulting in a fresh application being made by the academy. We look forward to documenting this journey over the next two years and feel confident that this is something that we will achieve through a whole school community effort.
This year we will have two Arts Representatives from each class to support the Artsmark process and to voice the pupils’ thoughts on both curriculum based arts, and those that could be identified as extra opportunities across the academic year.
Please check back for updates on this process and to find out who will make up our Arts Representative team.
